Lunar and Planetary Institute -  The Lunar and Planetary Institute is a focus for academic participation in studies of the current state, evolution, and formation of the solar system. The Institute is housed in the USRA Center for Advanced Space Studies (CASS), located at 3600 Bay Area Boulevard, Houston, Texas, 77058, and includes a computing center, extensive collections of lunar and planetary data, an image-processing facility, a scientific visualization facility, an extensive library, publishing services, and facilities for workshops and conferences.

Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum - The Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum (NASM) maintains the largest collection of historic air and spacecraft in the world. It is also a vital center for research into the history, science, and technology of aviation and space flight. Located on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., the Museum has hundreds of artifacts on display including the original Wright 1903 Flyer, the "Spirit of St. Louis," Apollo 11 command module, and a Lunar rock sample that visitors can touch. The museum continues to develop new exhibits to examine the impact of air and space technology on science and society.

The Solar System in 3D Stereo Images - This resource contains 50 unique 3D color images of the Solar System.  3D images that you must view using red/blue 3D glasses can only be black and white. Only 3D stereo image pairs like these can be seen in color.)  You (and your students) do not need red/blue 3D glasses to enjoy these 50 images.  The link below is the only direct link to the index page for 3D images. The only other way to find the 3D pictures is to visit each planets' webpage and look around for it. The 3D pictures are placed at the best ogical place on each planet's detail webpages.  There are also 340 other pictures of the planets as well as interactive quizzes (many with pictures) to test your knowledge. There are some astronomy webquests too.

Solar System Live - the interactive Orrery of the Web. You can view the entire Solar System, or just the inner planets (through the orbit of Mars). Controls allow you to set time and date, viewpoint, observing location, orbital elements to track an asteroid or comet, and a variety of other parameters. Click on the title of any control to display a help page explaining it, or go directly to the help table of contents. You can compose a request with custom settings and save the results in your browser's hotlist or bookmark table, allowing direct access to Solar System 

Space.com - Not just for astrology club geeks, this site is interesting (and accessible) to anyone interested in space and related topics. In any given day, you might see the Roman Coliseum as seen from satellites, an update on the hunt for earth-like planets, and a story on how Wal-Mart is considering using a satellite to spy on its competitors. Professional journalists cover space stations, the space shuttle, worldwide launches, just about anything pertaining to space. There's also a daily quiz, a stargazing guide, and a history of space exploration. This site is so extensive you might just feel like you're lost in space!
