CIVIL RIGHTS PROJECT

Power to the People

1950’s to Present

Prompt: In groups of two or three, research a Civil Rights group of your choice . Explore what provokes the people to raise their voices—in the past and present. Identify the people involved, the key events/protests, and laws. You will explore various research sources.   Collect quotes, songs, and/or poems. Keep track of sources. Analyze and evaluate three (3) of your web sources using the "Evaluating a Website" handout found by clicking "Research Help."  (Many times, the groups are considered "radical" in society.)   Present your findings to the class.
