Adventures in Education - A well-organized site with a wealth of information.  The map will explain different parts of the country, there is financial information, money management, "Know before you go," and an "Ask the Experts" section.  Sponsored by the Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corp.

Campus Tours.Com - Virtual tours which will show you what the campus looks like.

Career One Stop - A huge database of information - Plan your education and find the schools and programs just right for you. 

College is Possible - Excellent site to use to prepare for going to college.  Useful tips and links.  From the American Council on Education

CollegeConfidential.com - A site that will help to "demystify" the admissions process and will provide information on other college issues.

CollegeNET  Online applications and free financial aid information.  CollegeNET provides separate databases for four-year colleges and also for community, technical, and junior colleges and takes you to the actual Web sites of the colleges. The four-year college database is searchable by geography, tuition, enrollment, and potential college major.

College Choice - A unique collection of videos (fee based) which will give you a feeling of some college campuses.

College Opportunities On-Line (COOL) - A direct link to over 9,000 U.S. colleges and universities.  Students can search for colleges based on location, program, or degree offerings. Sponsored by the National center for Education Statistics.    

College Search - From the College Board, College Search can help students identify potential colleges. This site includes a searchable database of over 3,200 institutions.

College View - "Search for the university that's right for you using CollegeView's free online database of over 3,500 two- and four-year schools, and view information about those schools on our site. You'll also find information on financial aid and choosing a career." The database is very useful.

Community Colleges - Courtesy of University of Texas at Austin, this site includes links to state listings of more than 800 two-year, post-secondary institutions offering certificate programs and associate degrees.

Counselor-O-Matic - Fill out a form describing a prospective college student's background, grades, school and community involvement, scores on standardized tests, and what is wanted in a college.  Click "GO" and it will generate a list of 15 schools: five that you'll most likely get into, five that are good matches for you and five that your getting into will require a little luck.  Free registration is required to get 15 selections, otherwise you get only three.  Subjects:  College Choice

Embark.com - Lots of good information to help in making decisions on majors, types of colleges, costs, etc.

GoCollege - GoCollege is dedicated to furthering educational opportunities for the youth of America. GoCollege recognizes that the future of our country rests with a solid education for all whom can reach out and grasp from the tree of knowledge.  All the content that is provided is free to the user.
 

Hobson's College View - Using the search feature, you can customize your school sections with up to 12 options.  In addition, you can read about college life here.  Overwhelming amount of info at this site!

 Peterson's Education Center - Peterson's includes information about educational programs at all levels and provides searchable databases of colleges and academic programs.  Peterson's bills itself as the "leader in college search, test prep, and financial aid."

Princeton Review - 950+ schools listed with online application process. Most thorough and most informative site, but you must register to access.  

Study Abroad - Listed are thousands of academic programs in more than 100 countries throughout the world, with links to study abroad programs, academic courses, and internships. The programs are searchable by country, subject, and language.

SuperCollege - Created by two Harvard graduates, this site has great informative articles on all of the hot topics.   

U.S. News and World Report 2004- This comprehensive site includes college and university rankings, reprinted articles from the print edition, listings of women's colleges, black colleges, and more. Features the top 25 schools in several categories taken from the magazine's 1998 edition of America's Best Colleges.

vocational information center - directory of trade and technical schools

Yahoo!'s List of Colleges and Universities - Search for the home page of a specific college or follow the links to home pages of thousands of colleges and universities worldwide.
