Access Arts - World Artist Directory - A powerful search engine site to search for accomplished artists worldwide. Artcylopedia - The front page has an amazing listing of links and also has a search engine. Search by artist (7500+), title words, or museum. Check out the art movements section on the main page - also articles of the month, the list of the top 30 searches for artists, lengthy list of links to art museums around the world. Excellent! Art Resources on the Web - access this site for a very complete listing of sites for teens to use when researching art - including architecture, history, music and photography. Art Gallery Exhibition Webquest - Created as a class project Art Gallery of New South Wales - The extensive Collections area on this site is broken into Australian Art (including the country's largest Aboriginal collection), Asian, Western, Contemporary, Photography, and work by Australia's favorite artistic son, Brett Whiteley. Art for Kids - from the Mining Company - an excellent list of links (blocked 1/07) ART HISTORY - This is a comprehensive list of links compiled by the Associate Professor of Art History at Sweet Briar College. It seems to be updated pretty regularly and is organized very well.

Electric Gallery - This extensive, colorful, and well-thought-out site includes jazz and blues art, southwest, folk, and contemporary art works, to name a few. It also includes an informative "walking tour." Exploring Themes in American Art - Covers 10 themes in American art: abstraction, the figure, historical subjects, landscape painting, marine painting, portraiture, narrative art, scenes from everyday life, still life, and topographical views. Excellent intro to American Art. eyes on art - a learning to look curriculum. A History of Photography - Summarizing photography from its beginnings through 1920, this is a text presentation with information on the contributions of dozens of people and processes in early photography. It's an excellent resource, well organized for ease of use (blocked 1/07)images of women in ancient art - Chris Whitcomb, a professor of art, has compiled and linked these sites - very comprehensive. Internet Directory of Art Libraries - The Search engine here is "provided as a means to access over 3,000 libraries and library departments with specialized holdings in art, architecture, and archaeology throughout the world." You can find it here, whatever it is! Internet Resources in Art History - Posted by K. The Maine Arts Commission works to advance the arts by supplying services and results-oriented funding to artists and arts organizations, and helpful resources about the arts to the general public. It is an independent state agency funded by the Maine State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts mark harden's archive - wonderful images at this site - free, but be aware of copyright issues.
