To participate in band students must acquire an instrument and sign up for a lesson with one of the Middle School music staff. Lessons are held once a week for twenty minutes and are held during a study period when possible. If scheduling does not allow for lessons during study time, students are taken from a class where they perform strongly.

     Band concerts are held three to four times a year. Students have the opportunity to compete against other similar groups from throughout the County at the Large Group Festival held annually in April of May. They also perform in a Pops concert in November, a Holiday concert in December and a Spring concert in May or June.
