PHILOSOPHY

We believe Caribou High School and Caribou Tech Center to be learning centers whose purpose is to employ available resources to offer an opportunity for all students to be educated according to their individual capacities.  The school's function is to provide an academic and social learning environment which respects all students as individuals, attempts to meet their specific needs, and helps to develop their personalities.  The school attempts to translate this philosophy into practical application by working with home and community to develop in all students a sense of useful citizenship.

OBJECTIVES

To prepare students to be useful citizens.

  To adapt its curriculum to meet different abilities.

  To encourage a respect for discipline and self-control.

  To provide an atmosphere conducive to learning.

  To expand programs for talented, gifted, and handicapped students.

  To offer an occupational work experience.

  To promote an appreciation for health and physical fitness as well as to provide useful carry-over activities for leisure time.

  To provide a curriculum that will prepare the students for post-secondary education.

  To stimulate cultural interest through courses, fine arts, and extra-curricular activities.

  To encourage the faculty and administration to keep abreast of current educational trends.

  To encourage extra-curricular participation in the school community.

  To promote concepts of safety.

  To provide an opportunity for students to be knowledgeable and aware consumers.

  To promote social awareness.
