Approx. 5 million Royal Air Force photos of Western Europe will be available to the public on the Web site. The Avalon Project at the Yale Law School - WWII: Documents - (see Primary Sources) The History Net Archives: World War II - The History Net offers a large number of articles from its archives. The homepage shows a small selection: be sure to click on Additional Articles at the top of the page to find the full list. Each article is introduced by an excerpt, and you must click on Full Text to access the complete piece. You'll also find links to events and exhibits and a search function. This site is not useful for researching historical information but does give students background and perspective on the events it covers. The History Place - Contains World War II Links including: World War Two in Europe - a comprehensive time line of the significant events of World War II from 1939-1945 and the Pacific operations during WWII. HyperWar: A Hypertext History of the Second World War - This is a good choice for finding primary sources on the Web. Categories include Politics and Diplomacy, Military and Service Histories (essays, fact sheets and firsthand accounts divided by branch of service), Pacific Theater of Operations, and European Theater of Operations. You'll also find appendices and a bibliography. The text is cross-referenced with links and accompanied by photographs. Pearl Harbor from the National Geographic Site - One of the best resources available on the event. It is a rich resource that draws on the Encyclopedia Americana. The links are nicely arranged in categories such as "A-Bomb," "Homefront," "Holocaust," etc. You'll find information here on military portable radios, the Enola Gay, particular battles, and much more.
