A New Gateway of Links: A Roadmap to African-American Resources - A massive directory of over 2000 resources. It was compiled by Sherry Sherrod Dupree, Santa Fe Community College. Ms. Dupree is a researcher, consultant, and historian whose primary focus is African-American resources.

The African American Mosaic: A Library of Congress Resource Guide for the study of Black History and Culture - All types of resources are available: books, periodicals, prints, photographs, music, and film covering nearly 500 years of the black experience in the Western Hemisphere.
Afro American Almanac - Here you will find biographies of African American leaders, e-texts, historical documents, information on historical events, African American folk tales, trivia games about African American history, speeches and commentary of importance (including the text of speeches by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr) and links. Black History: Exploring African American Issues on the Web - This site was created as a model for integrating the World Wide Web into classroom learning. It consists of a Hotlist of links which will provide a useful starting place for research and browsing. Black History Month - Provided and maintained by CNN. An excellent resource to use during Feb. Born in Slavery; Slave Narratives from the Federal Writers' Project, 1936-1938. The narratives can be searched by narrator and by print volume, keyword, and state; includes images. Faces of Science: African Americans in the Sciences - The biographies can be accessed by name or by profession. Gateway to African American History - Time-line specific links which will be helpful for the 1940's project. Images of African Americans from the 19th Century from the New York Public Library. The collection is searchable by keyword and broad topic area. Maine Visible Black History - . Gerald E. Talbot and H.H. Price are collecting this history through photographs, interviews with black elders, and scholarly research to produce a book which is intended to be educational in the broadest sense: interesting reading and a resource.
