Environmental Health

The State of the Air - The American Lung Association's air quality assessment from 1997 to 1999 finds high ozone levels to be "an ongoing, widespread national problem" in terms of its impact on health. Each state's information is displayed for counties monitoring ozone and includes total county population, populations of those groups most vulnerable to ozone pollution, the average number of ozone days, and the A-F air quality grade. Links to national air quality trends, the 25 most polluted cities/counties, ways to reduce air pollution, and a chance to petition to the President and Congress to uphold the Clean Air Act are also provided. - slr  Subjects: Air quality -- United States -- States | Air -- Pollution | Ozone
