History and Politics Out Loud - HPOL is a searchable multimedia database that contains audio files of important speeches in American history and politics.

History of the Federal Judiciary - This online reference source contains the Federal Judges Biographical Database of all federal judges (district, circuit, and appellate) since 1789. Users can search the database by name or use the alphabetical index to browse.  The site also covers histories of the federal courts and other topics such as agencies, directors, committees, and judicial impeachment. Laws - How our Laws are  made

Oyez - provides vast amounts of information about the U.S. Supreme Court and its rulings, including a wide range of recent and historic transcripts.

Thomas - Legislative information on the internet from the Library of Congress. Know exactly what is going on in national government by checking this site. Covers legislation, Congressional record, and committee information in the Congress.

Uncle Sam for Kids - A good compilation of addresses.  Don't click in to see Uncle Sam at the top of the page, but scroll down the page until the list of links begins.

Census 2000 - Locate the information you need from the wealth of social, demographic, and economic statistics here at this site. from the U.S. Dept. of Commerce.  U.S. Census Bureau Publications - Publication releases are dated and arranged by subject.

FBI - History of the FBI - Learn the history of the FBI from it's origins in the early 1900s to the present day.

FedStats- This site is by far the best place to find the statistics compiled by more than 70 agencies of the U.S. Government.

Internet FDA - A wealth of information about the Food and Drug Administration's activities in the areas of food safety, human and animal drugs, cosmetics, toxicology research, the safety of medical devices, and radiological health.

IRS - The Digital Daily: The fastest, easiest tax publication on the planet.

Library of Congress - A gateway to a vast storehouse of information on the United States, past and present. Current bills under consideration can be seen through THOMAS and extensive primary sources of information on America's past through the American Memory site. This is an invaluable source.

Our Documents - An ongoing project from the National Archives, this site identifies and displays digital reproductions of 100 milestone documents - public laws, Supreme Court decisions, speeches, treaties, designs, patents, photos, letters, constitutional amendments, communication transcripts, and more - that shaped U.S. policy from 1776 to 1965.

U.S. Department of Education - latest news on the government's efforts to improve the quality of education in the U.S.(helpful info on financial assistance for college, including the student loan program.)

U.S. Department of Justice - **check out the Justice for Kids and Youth page, which is designed for K-12 students.Subjects covered include Health and Safety, Biological and Life Sciences (DNA testing, fingerprinting, forensic science), Criminology, Human Relations, Technology, and Civil Rights.

U.S House of Representatives - This site has many great links. You can see what the House is intending to work on and also up-to-date events as they happen. You can also search bills by topic, bill number, or title.

U.S. State Department - Includes Digital Diplomacy for Students, a Geographic Learning Site, Background notes on each country, reports on areas of conflict around the world.

U.S Senate - Find out what is currently on the House floor, get access to information about bills and resolutions being considered plus some great educational and government links.

U.S. Supreme Court Collection - Supreme Court decisions from 1990 to present can be found here. It also gives you the ability to access decisions before 1990.
