Tutorials for Educators

The following PowerPoint tutorials have been prepared to assist in using the databases and programs we have available at CHS:

EBSCO Web Community - Learn how to use the EBSCO databases at the Maine InfoNet Research Database Site.  Access this database at school by clicking on this icon:       At home, you will be asked to type in your name, library affiliation and zip code.  This is for reordering purposes only - we must prove to the Legislature that we are using the databases!  Follow these steps to access tutorials:

• On the EBSCO Web Community Site, chose the maroon tab which says Training and Documentation.
• Click "EBSCOhost" 
• The first few training documents will be PDF files.  Go down to the selections with the WebEx icons.  These will be presented as a Virtual Tour.  You will download and play your choice.  A professional trainer will narrate the tutorial.  
• Learn about advanced searching techniques, learn about the new features including the folders and the save and create files with alerts which can be posted when new information becomes available.
