Advanced Placement from Rice University - a grant-funded site which lists quality information suitable for the AP classroom in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

CIESE (Center for Improved Engineering & Science Education) - One of the most useful sites available today for interdisciplinary projects utilizing and integrating technology into the curriculum.  Under the "Classroom Projects" link, you'll find the heart of this site. 

Developing Virtual Trips in Science - part of this new, FREE site! Virtual Field Trips - This Web page for K-12 educators contains a wide range of subjects: science, social studies, literature, and other educational areas.  The trips are arranged by grade levels.  This is a free resource for educators and is a great supplemental resource for all levels.

Exploratorium - Filled with science experiments that are both fun and educational. It also features online viewing of current exhibits at the San Francisco-based museum that sponsors the site. 

Explore Science- Finding great teaching resources on the Internet is difficult and time consuming. Dynamic multimedia activities are scarce. This is a problem we aim to solve.  Find Many activities at this site! Highly recommended for both math and science.  

Frank Potter's Science Gems - Click on the subject in this link and you might find science lessons, interactive projects, "ask the experts" links, and "clickable" maps and other pictures to view - all organized by grade level. 

Math and Science Gateway - Sponsored by Cornell University's Cornell Theory Center, this web site provides information for math and science educators and students, primarily in grades 9 to 12.

NSDL - National Science Digital Library - a digital library of exemplary resource collections and services, organized in support of science education at all levels. 

National Science Foundation - this will take you to the site map for funding/grant information, publications, news, etc.

Online Science Activities - The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry Web site provides 18 online exhibits ranging from aging and chemistry to flight and energy.  The grade levels for the activities are 4-10.

Science.Gov - Science.gov contains reliable information resources selected by the respective agencies as their best science information. Two major types of information are included—selected authoritative science Web sites and databases of technical reports, journal articles, conference proceedings, and other published materials. (The specific content varies by database.) The selected Web sites can be explored from the science.gov homepage. The Web pages and the databases can be searched individually or simultaneously from the search page.

Science Learning Network - The Science Learning Network explores how telecomputing can support inquiry-based science education.  Sponsored by the National Science Foundation

Biology in Motion - Dr. Leif Saul presents these simulations and activities designed to promote understanding of living things using his own graphics and multimedia to provide an original look at the life sciences.  He even offers the opportunity to contact him personally to help you find biology-oriented materials to use in instruction!

The Biology Place - from Pearson Prentice Hall, offers free, interactive life-science tutorials.  A new web portal that gives students free access to BioCoach which includes activities to help students visualize and apply their understanding of biological concepts; LabBench which provides students with pre-and post-lab reviews (designed for advanced students); Glossary which provides accessible definitions and relevant terms.   The activities correspond to the Advanced Placement Lab Manual and include sections on key concepts, experiment design, analysis of results, and a lab quiz.

BioZone - hosted by a New Zealnad publishing house that offers high quality teaching materials to teachers and students.  Resources are updated annually and include a comprehensive collection of hotlists of resources from animal behavior to space biology with subcategories and a search function for ease of use.

Forensics in the Classroom - Free materials available on request!  Court TV is pleased to bring forensics to high school science classrooms nationwide. This FREE, exciting new program conforms to nationally recognized standards and was developed as part of a continuing educational partnership with the American Academy of Forensic Sciences.  New for this year we are proud to add two units - one for middle school, the other for high school - that were also developed in collaboration with the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA).

IN-VSEE - is a consortium of university and industry scientists and engineers, community college and high school science faculty and museum educators with a common vision of creating an interactive World Wide Web (WWW) site to develop a new educational thrust based on remote operation of advanced microscopes and nano-fabrication tools coupled to powerful surface characterization  methods. Interactive modules are provided, excellent links, a gallery of pictures and illustrations, and a news archive of information in the field.

Microscopy Education Web Page - Dennis Kunkel - Students and teachers can search for photomicrographs taken by Dennis Kunkel, an award-winning photomicrographer.  All users need to do is send in a form indicating how they'll use the pictures.  Any info is kept confidential.  Categories include viruses, bacteria, plants, fungi, arachnids, and more.  Other useful sections are available at this site to explore. NIH Curriculum Units - This series tackles topics ranging from cell biology, cancer and infectious diseases to human genetic variation, sleep disorders, neurobiology, addiction, chemicals, the environment, and more.  Each unit's lesson are aligned with the National Science Education Standards.  Each unit includes inquiry-based activities and extensive background materials for teachers.  High School Supplements Link.  Student Activity Portal

Chemical Earth - an Australian site with hundreds of links to resources.

chemcollective - ChemCollective's goals are to support a community of instructors interested in improving chemistry education through interactive and engaging online activities. We invite Instructors to use the materials, and contribute by providing comments and feedback on the activities, sharing classroom experiences, and participating in discussions.  The Chemistry Collective project is currently funded by the National Science Foundation, so our software is available free of charge to all educators and students. You and your students can use it on the web immediately without any licensing requirements. We only ask that you let us know that you are using it, along with the number of students involved, so that we can report data about the overall use to our funders. Additional comments are also welcome to help improve all of the activities in this collection.

Chemistry Teaching Resources - Extensive hotlist of resources!  Check out the Matters of Public Concern for relevant issues and Related to Chemistry for some fun enrichment ideas.

Creative Chemistry  Creative Chemistry offers worksheets, teaching notes, and fun activities. Molecule of the Month - "Each month... links will take you to a page at one of the Web sites at a University Chemistry Department or commercial site in the UK, the US, or anywhere in the world, where useful (and hopefully entertaining!), information can be found about a particularly interesting molecule."

Agriculture - Academic Info of Agriculture Resources

CERES Project - Center for Educational resources Project - Through funding from NASA, faculty at Montana State University and classroom teachers from across the nation have developed an extensive library of on-line and interactive K-12 science education materials for teaching astronomy. Closely aligned with the NRC National Science Education Standards, these web based lessons make maximum use of exciting on-line NASA resources, data, and images. In addition to classroom-ready materials using contemporary teaching strategies, CERES has developed several on-line NASA data search engines and two graduate level distance learning courses, available over the internet to K-12 teachers.

Discovery Kit from NOAA that is designed to help students explore geodesy - the science that measures and monitors the size and shape of the Earth.  Contains a 10-chapter tutorial explaining the science and history of geodesy; a list of online resources where educators and students can view specific geodesic data; and lesson plans correlated with Nat. Science Ed Standards at the high school level.

Earth System Science Education - The goal of this site is to serve as a repository for Earth System Science education and research resources - a starting point for your reference as you explore this expanding interdisciplinary field, or a place to look for the latest ESS developments.

EcoHealth - created by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and focuses on global warming and other environmental threats and their links to human health problems.  Features photos, diagrams, maps and video clips, standards-based lesson plans, a news page, and a glossary with many terms not yet found in household dictionaries.  

ESSEA - Earth Science Systems Education Alliance - offers three earth science courses for teachers. The courses are delivered over the Internet for teachers of grades K-4, 5-8, and 9-12. A master teacher mentors 20-24 teachers; an Earth scientist assists with science content. Teachers collaborate and earn graduate or continuing education credit while solving problems, building models, and designing classroom activities. Environmental Education Network - The Environmental Education Network (EEN) is a collaborative effort among educators, the EnviroLink Network and the environmental community to bring environmental education on-line and into a multimedia format. Physical Sciences Resource Center - is a web-based databank that provides K-20 teachers links to a wide range of teaching and learning resources in the physical sciences. All materials are classified by their grade level, topic, and activity type, and have descriptions outlining their content. Information about authors, publishers, costs, and copyright is also provided

Weather Science - Hands-on weather project - from the Center for Innovation in Engineering and Science Education at the Stevens Institute of technology in New Jersey, A project that couples real-time weather conditions as temperature, wind, and precipitation.  Students will be asked to construct graphs, analyze complex barometric charts, and give local weather reports based on what they’ve learned.  Students will learn how to create weather instruments and how to locate real-time weather information from around the world using the internet, and lessons will help students understand the difference between weather and climate, explain cloud classification, and explore the nature of severe storms.  Detailed teachers guide included with a list of curriculum standards. Also a reference section with related links.

Windows on the Universe - Earth Science Site for grades 3-12. Very graphics intensive

U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS) The Learning Web - Designed for K-12.  Teacher packets approiate for various grade levels come with instructional booklets, fact sheets, links to credible sites, suggestions for helpful books and articles, posters, and project ideas.
