Computer Lab Procedures

 

The high school computer lab is:

A place where educational / school related research is conducted.
A place to become proficient in computer skills including research.
A place to complete homework projects which require research and word processing.

The high school computer lab is not:

A place where students may gather to talk
A place where students may "surf the net"
A place where students may roam

Study Hall students may use the computer lab, however, there are many times when the lab will be closed or have limited availability due to classroom projects.

Up to 10 students may sign out of the cafeteria at one time to come to the lab.

Any student in violation of computer policy will be subject to the following disciplinary action *:

1st violation - 1 week suspension form the lab
2nd violation - 1 month suspension from the lab
3rd violation - 1 semester suspension from the computer

*This includes computers in all areas of CHS

Students may face serious disciplinary action on the first incident depending on the seriousness of the infraction.

Students must sign-in upon arrival.  Students coming from classrooms during the period must bring a pass with them to the computer lab.  Students may not leave the lab to go to the bathroom, locker, phone, etc. They must return to study hall to sign out.
