The chess team is open to any student who plays chess or has an interest in learning. We welcome you even if you have other commitments from time to time. Meetings are fairly informal and always enjoyable We meet every Tuesday and Thursday after school in room 213 (Foods Lab) until 4:30 p.m. During the winter months we have weekly matches with other chess teams around the county. The chess season officially ends with our trip to the Maine state championships. There our team will compete with other teams throughout the state. If you do well individually, you may be invited to attend the Maine state individual chess championship which takes place at the end of March.
