arranged swing standards and pop/rock covers to signature pieces such as
“Ode to Krispy Kreme,” Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” and Chapter 6’s very
own version of “The Wizard of Oz.” This concert is presented by the

Gadelle
Thursday, September 25, at 7:00 pm.
Gadelle is a four-member, all woman, traditional Acadian band that evolved
from the nucleus of Les Girls, a musical project created by former
Barachois members Helene Bergeron and Louise Arsenault. Gadelle,
an old Acadian word that translates as “wild berries” also connotes a
feisty female. The four members Helene Bergeron- vocals, piano, pump
organ, fiddle, foot percussion and step dancing; and Louise Arsenault -
fiddle, harmonica, foot percussion, step-dancing; Caroline Bernard-
primary vocalist, piano, pump organ, accordion and guitar; and Paige
Gallant- fiddle, mandolin, guitar, bass and step-dancing. Caroline and
Paige are in their early twenties; Helene and Louise in their early 50's
so there is an interesting cross-generational dynamic that infuses their
on-stage patter. Moreover, Gadelle members sing, dance, and play with a
joyful ferocity and with the same stylistic purity and stagecraft that
made Barachois famous.
Advance tickets are $10.00 for students and
seniors; $15.00 for adults. Door prices are $5.00 more in each category.
Tickets will go on sale August 20, 2008
