PRESS RELEASE
Pre-K and Kindergarten Registration
for School Year 2008-2009
The Caribou School Department will be having a
very important registration night for all parents of students
entering Pre-K in the Fall 2008. This will also include parents of
Kindergarten students not presently enrolled in the Caribou School
Department.
The meeting will be held in the cafeteria at
Teague Park Elementary School on May 5, 2008 at 6:00 PM for parents only
(children will not be screened at this time). There will be a brief
presentation by school staff regarding your child’s education. At this
time you will also be given an appointment to register your child.
Please keep in mind that your child will need the following to enter
Pre-K and Kindergarten:
1.
Birth certificate of child to be registered (hospital
certificates are not acceptable) as mandated by State Law.
2.
Copy of immunizations (obtained from your medical providers
office) as mandated by State Law.
Immunizations
required by the start of school year 2008-2009:
5 DPT, 4 OPV/IPV,
2 MMR, Varicella or documentation of chickenpox disease from medical
provider. (4 years old and older)
3. A copy of guardianship/custody
papers if it is warranted.
Maine State Law mandates that kindergarten
students must be 5 years of age on or before October 15, 2008.
The pre-school program requires students be 4 years of age on or
before October 15, 2008.
